ICC Certified Building Inspector

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of residential and light commercial construction projects, including structural, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, green building, and fire protection systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and approved plans/specifications.
  • Perform field inspections on industrial, commercial, and residential buildings during various construction phases.
  • Confirm compliance with the California Building Code, local ordinances, and state/federal regulations.
  • Review building plans and conduct field plan checks.
  • Respond to code violation complaints and follow up on enforcement actions.
  • Prepare clear reports, citations, and technical documents as needed.
  • Issue permits and provide technical support to clients and agency staff.
  • Respond to emergency calls for safety evaluations as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
